After all the chilling recipes of these days I present this rustic pumpkin and bats pie that exudes innocence and naivete. The figure of pumpkins and piecrust bats fluttering about it seems to me a good idea to join a simple pie with the representative elements of this festivity.
I have to admit that everything terrifying Halloween and colors, especially if there are children in the house, it`s fun and makes us have a good time, but I needs to use a lot of pumpkins that had in my house so anything better than to prepare them mashed baked. I leave this rustic pie and I recommend you to prepare yourselves for its deliciousness.
See how to make rustic pumpkin and bats pie:
1. Star preparing the pastry. Put in a bowl the flour, egg, cold butter in small pieces, tbs of sugar and a pinch of salt. Knead with your hands and form a ball. Wrap with plastic and let stand for twenty minutes in the refrigerator. Preheat the oven to 180º.
2. Roll out the dough lining a pan and keep the cuts for the final decoration. Fill the pie with dry vegetables if you want and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the vegetables and bake the pie for 5 more minutes, reduce the temperature to 170º.
3. In a big bowl mix the brown sugar, eggs and beat until espumen. Add the spices, cinnamon, nutmeg and ground ginger and mix well. Incorporate the pumpkin pure and cream mixing everything until we see all ingredients integrated. Pour the mix over the pastry base.
4. Roll out dough cuts had left and with a cookie cutter made of cardboard figure bats and pumpkins. Bake the pie for 5 more minutes and place the figures over the mix, varnish them with milk with a pinch of sugar. Bake the whole pie for 45 more minutes until we see the cream steadfast.
